Remy just chuckled darkly at her response. It hadn’t slipped his notice that she was exclusively calling him by his code name, which wasn’t exactly strange but she said it different now that they were on opposite sides.
“Come on, Rogue, y’ ain’t never been dat naive,” he said in reply. She had to know it was coming, it was so obvious, but she was with the X-Men now in their cushy mansion and all their optimism and ideals. It was really telling that their leader saw the world through literal rose coloured glasses.
All this wasn’t really what was bothering him, though; it was her insinuation that he was out here to kill all these men in cold blood. Sure, he wouldn’t exactly shed a tear if one of them didn’t make it through this night, but he didn’t plan to intentionally murder anyone. “True, but dey gonna be scared. Kill off dis lot an’ de next might not be so quick ta step up.”
Of course she didn’t have to know that. She already made her mind up about him and he wasn’t about to try to change it.
